Our Education

The Noetic Medicine Initiative trains and certifies healthcare professionals in Introductory and Advanced CME Courses (as below).  Caregivers with these skills will know to avoid the common curses many professionals inadvertently utter: phrases like, “You have X months to live,” “You’ll just have to learn to live with it,” “You have only a 10% chance of survival.” Instead, caregivers certified by NMI will speak with care and deliberation, knowing that MIND MATTERS.

Introductory and Advanced CME courses are offered to medical, osteopathic, nursing, and other healthcare professions, including but not limited to students, residents, fellows, and post-graduates from all disciplines.

Interview with the Expert: Dr Steve Bierman

Sharing Progress in Cancer Care: In the fourth episode of our 'Behind Every Drug There’s a Story' series, our Scientific Clinical Advisor, Aleksandra Filipovic, sits down with Dr Steve Bierman, Director of the Noetic Medicine Initiative at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine.

Noetic (adj): Of or pertaining to mind or mental events.

Traditional allopathic medicine, and even some forms of integrative medicine, exclude all things mental – focusing only on physical causes and physical effects.

At the Noetic Medicine Initiative, we offer a range of continuing education programs for healthcare professionals and caregivers designed to teach them the impact of ideas – theirs and their patients’ – on health and healing.

We explore all aspects of the patient/caregiver encounter: including greetings and goodbyes, delivering dire diagnoses, proper informed consent, pre-surgical hypnosis, painless procedures, and much more.

We further explore common (though neglected) contributory noetic causes of illnesses: e.g., conditioning responses, dangerous identifications, retained childhood misconceptions, curses and baleful wishes.

By expanding the reductionist paradigm to accept and treat contributory noetic causes, our graduates learn to treat the root causes of illness - becoming the driving force behind their patients’ lasting health and happiness.
